Finally got the ring. Cost an arm and a leg.

But I got another thing coming. Just couldn't help myself...

I popped the question after Texas lost to LSU. My fiancee was pretty bummed so I thought I'd cheer her up.

The Vortech is used with about 12K on it. I'd figured I better do it before I get married and it was a pretty good price. I was actually interested in Randys_G for the longest time, but I just couldn't get something like that until I got the engagement completed. Now that it's done, I have a get out of jail free card for my SC (minus a few stock options).

I'm receiving the intercooler, SS box, and various pipes today and then the actual blower, various fittings, and mounting plate tomorrow. The previous owner had an ARC oil pan and tapped the oil return line into there. They also had the wiring harness for the ECU. I've been in contact with John Isbell and I'll probably have him do my install. It should be a plug and play, plus some tuning.

I also have a replica Ings+1 kit sitting in my garage. Needless to say, I think the SC is going on before the Ings+1.

That's great news on both fronts!!!

Congrats and welcome to the engaged club!

Congrats and welcome to the world of FI!!! Trust me, you are going to love every second of it!!! After this past weekend of me pounding on the car at the dragstrip, I have no doubts whatsoever that the Vortech kit is rock solid. The car did not miss a beat the whole day. I'm seriously doubting whether I will do anything more to the car performance-wise because it runs so awesome as a daily driver / weekend racer in it's current state. A tribute to the way Randy built the car, it's awesome!

I would highly recommend a couple things for your setup ... a very free flowing exhaust and plenum upgrade (either Motordyne ISO thermal spacer, Crawford, Kinetix, etc). The free flowing exhaust will allow you to run at lower boost while putting the same power to the wheels. The plenum is not only a power adding mod but also will help with a safer tune.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!

Yup. I already have the Borla TD and a 3/8" spacer with ISO thermal kit (that plenum really stays stone cold). I just need a set of Crawford cats.

Sounds like you're ready to go!

Crawford cats ... or Kinetix cats (what I have) ... or test pipes are always an option
