Annoying Brake Squeaks

Hey all... I've read this as a notorious issue on the G's (well most nissans, my parents maxima had the problem too)

I'm at 35,500 on the car and would like to know if there is a dealer that will actually do something besides say "oh, thats normal"

Normal my ***, if they haven't noticed, they are selling a car that competes with Audi, Lexus, Acura, etc. When you're on that level, your brakes shouldn't be making noise at all.

I could understand if I had a brembo kit on it, but I dont.

any suggestions? I work near Sewell and they've been great... except for that.

Oh... I also have this nasty haze on the the headlights... any ideas?

Start making the drive to Grubbs.....They are a little more understanding of things like that. Plus they actually do aftermarket stuff.....AT A DEALERSHIP!! I mean any dealership that will do that ar emy kind of guys. My car is in the shop their right now with a power steering problem. It won't be done for 2 weeks and I got a hot 4 door G. THe significance there is that i am only 22 and they didnt stick me n the little Mazda loaner. Thats hot. Plus they are towing my car to Hurst Car Toys for the stereo install for me. Can you say RABID!!! As for the problem at hand.....My car did that too (I have the Brembo package) but after a few solid weeks of braking considerably harder around town it vanishes just as fast as it arrives. For me it was only when I was barely braking. If I mashed the brakes they wouldn't squeek. But after a few weeks of romping on the brakes it doesn't even squeek when I barely apply them. Also a good brake dust remover sprayed on the rotor itself and behind the rotor may loosen that crap and eliminate your problem as well. The headlights....Not sure about that one.....Mine are doing the same thing...let me know if you find anything out about that.

I go through my boy BRAD. He is the one who hooked up a tow and loaner car without me even being there....I'm pretty sure all that has to be written down somewhere but he got it done. Nice as hell guy. Good luck with it.

If you are close to Sewell, talk to Mario Cantu and he'll take good care of you. He knows both Cary and me (and all my problems w/ da G). My best advice is to switch your pads to ceramics...noise/dust ---gone forever my friend.

As far as the haze is concerned, you can use Meguiar's plastic cleaner/polish and it will leave them as new. You may want to see if they can rebuff them for you at the dealer.

Latest News: my car is now stalling out 97% of the time when I turn it on...I'm just sooooo loving this Nissan quality and reliability. There must have been some pi$$ed off asian peeps working overtime on a fri. night when they built my car....

took it to brad with 35,867 on the clock this morning.

But new shims in there AND new front rotors.... good job Grubbs! I got the car all done within an hour and 15mins. I had to get to class up at UNT... so I told them to yank it out of wash (it just got washed yesterday at my dealership).

Cool thing is that I have the ability to go to either Grubbs or Sewell whenever as both are relatively conveinent for me
