May 14th & 15th Volunteers Needed

Fellow Members,

I’m hoping that in some way the DFW G35 Owners Club and Grubbs Infiniti has been of some help to you. Both our Owners Club, and Grubbs Infiniti have a similar goal, which is to provide you the best service and hopefully bring joy to you life. We need your help now, to bring some joy to our American Heroes.

I’m looking for volunteers to help staff two booths at the TEXAS OUTDOOR & MOTORSPORTS EXPO http://www.texasoutdoorexpo.com, on May 14th and 15th at Lake Grapevine. Proceeds to benefit The Coalition to Salute American Heroes. http://saluteheroes.org

The booths will need to be staffed on Saturday, May 14 from 9 am – 5 pm and on Sunday, May 15 from 9 am –4 pm. On Sunday we will need people who can tear down the tents and tables. Grubbs will provide T shirts to all volunteers and the DFW G35 Owners Club will also donate our new club T shirts.

This event should be lots of fun for the entire family. There will be many things to see and do at the Expo, including:
• Benefit Concert for SaluteHeroes.org *
• Sierra Club Dallas
• Adventure Team
• Adventure Team Kids
• Pet Adoptions
• Live Music
• Food Vendors
• Raffle Prizes
• 15 Player Video Gaming Station*
• Hot Air Balloon Rides*
• Rock Climbing Wall*
• Archery Range
• Water Safety Demo
• First Aid Workshop
• Hang Gliding Clinics
• Bike Trials Competition
• Backpacking Information Booth
• Remote Control Aircraft Demos
• Dance and Ballet Performances
• Gymnastics and Cheer Performances
• Fishing Demos
• Nature Trails
• US Air Force
• US Marines
• US Army
• USO
• The Texas Wakeboard Tour Show
• Radio Disney Super Star Dancers
• SCUBA Experience
• Kayak Demos
• Inflatable Obstacle Course
• Bounce Houses
• Hockey Shot Contest
• Backpacking Demos
• Inline Skating Clinics
• Powered Parachute Exhibit
• Outdoor Cooking Demos
• Reptile Show

Please email Evelyn at waller1waller@aol.com to volunteer. Give her your name, email, phone number, date and time you can volunteer.

I also need you to email me at theeggman1@mac.com with your shirt size and date you will attend.

Also please remember for those who cannot donate your time, I am asking each of our members to help by making a tax deductible donation of $5.00 to Salute America’s Heroes Texas Chapter.

Please make you checks out to Salute America’s Heroes Texas Chapter and send your donation to;

Is this going to be a Grubbs booth? I might be able to do it, but my company picnic is on the 14th. I have to work on the 15th.

No. The booth is in support of Salute American Heroes. Danny said he will have T-shirts for us I'm guessing with the Grubbs name on it. It will be a surprise for me as well. Our Club T-shirts will be well worth it. They are valued at over $20. We will be selling them to other club members at a later date. I think the club price will be $10 and Grubbs making up the difference. I hope you can make it.

Many thanks to those who have volunteered so far. We now have 7 members signed up. Here is a copy of a email from Joyce Evans;

Everyone,

Thank you all for volunteering. Your time and energy into this event is
very much appreciated.

You should have your schedule sent to you by now. If you do not have it
please email me or Evelyn and we will get that to you right away.

Those who have volunteered for set up and tear down know who you are and
will be receiving your instructions tomorrow.

All volunteers, when arriving at the Expo, will need to check in at the Main
tent located at the entrance. Give your name and state that you are a
volunteer for the Salute Heroes booth and you will directed to the booth
location. If you are directionally challenged, like my sister, please write
down this phone number 214.535.9861, this is my cell phone and I will have
it with me.

On Thursday, May 12 at 7 pm you are invited to have dinner with our wounded
heroes. Saltgrass Steakhouse in Grapevine, www.saltgrass.com, has
generously donated all of the soldier’s meals, yours will be at menu prices.
Carol T. did a wonderful job setting this up with Bill, General Manager.
Thank you Carol T. and Saltgrass.

On Friday, May 13, 7:30 pm you are invited, once again, to have dinner with
our wounded heroes at Big Buck Steakhouse in Grapevine, www.bigbuck.com.
Big Buck is donating the first $20 of every soldier’s meal, again yours will
be at menu prices. Thank you to Cleon, General Manager.

For those of you that dined with our heroes the last time they were in town,
you know what a great opportunity this is to get to know these brave people
in a casual setting. Not only do we have the honor of meeting these
extraordinary people, but they have the opportunity to get to know us. On a
personal note, at the last dinner everyone had a great time and I know that
you will be as touched as I was by the amazing spirit that they all carry
with them.

I look forward to meeting some of you and seeing some of you again. Any
questions, or if I left anything out – remember I count on you guys to let
me know what I have forgotten – please feel free to contact me anytime.

I just verified that this is a rain or shine event. If you are working on Saturday morning you may want to bring some rain gear.
