Dealerships-Gotta hate 'em
Dealerships-Gotta hate 'em
When my wife bought her G (used) the dealership insisted on installing new front calipers up front because the idiot that owened the car before had the calipers shaved so he could put some fugly chrome wheels on it. K, cool, no problem, that's cool of the dealership. Wait, what? WE have to pay for it? I don't think so....short story, we ended up paying half and they would in turn replace all pads and the front calipers...oh, we're talking the Brembo's here. Anyways, 25K miles later the back pads need replacing and we found out they never replaced them. NOW they're saying that they'll replace the pads "but if they turn the rotors and they end up being too thin we'll have to pay for two new rotors to be installed...adding $1300" to the brake job. WTH??
1. They ought to know BEFORE they turn the damn things whether or not they're turn-able.
2. They don't look like they're that worn down.
3. I read somewhere on this site that you couldn't turn Brembo rotors. Do we just have Brembo calipers? Not the rotors?
Well, just wanted to vent a little. My wife is still fighting them on this.

You can most definitely turn the rotors that come with the Brembo brake package, mine have been turned. Of course if they are under spec after turning the rotors then they will be too thin and will warp...
I work at a dealership in the service dept. I will let you know they won't know if the the rotors are too thin until after they cut them unless the rotors are already almost below specs. If this is the 1st time the rear rotors are being resurfaced then they should have plenty of room left. As far as the front caliper issue, the would never replace the rear brake pads when they were replacing the front calipers and pads unless the rears needed them. Also, the reason why you had to pay the 1st time for the calipers and brakes is b/c warranty will only cover defect in the original product. You sholuld blame the idiot who had the car before you for doing that.
We had an agreement with the dealer that they'd replace all pads.
Check this out, today they tried to tell my wife the back pads wore out quicker than the fronts because it's a rear-wheel drive car. Amazing.
Then when she told them they were on crack they said it was due to the irregular braking caused by the traction control. Wow.....

such as....well, when the temperature in TX is higher, and if the sun comes out early that day, and the pollen count is high; and heaven forbid if the moon is out because it causes higher tides; then all those factors cause your car's stability control to shift towards the central hemisphere; so as an owner you would need to fluctuate the braking pattern with both brake and e-brake in the following manner: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, select, start....
also, you may allow the car in front of you to assist you in stopping so you don't wear out your brake pads

unless the rotors are warped, you can live without turning them ever time you replace the pads. Pads are a lot cheeper then rotors

But to answer your question, my wife I think dealt with EVERYONE up there. It was ridiculous, how much they ran her around.
