Spring install fiasco

Spring install fiasco
I thought I'd install my springs today. So I lay out my tools and get ready to take apart the rear.
The rears are suppose to be really easy. Two bolts and out comes the spring. I take out the two bolts and then I realize my exhaust is in the way. Given that it is a true dual, the pipe is right underneath the rear lower link. So even when you have the bolts out, there isn't enough room to pop the spring out (Previously, I had a ton of problems getting the rear sway bar out with the exhaust as well).
To take out the spring it looks like you need to take out the toe bolt and remove the whole lower link. I did buy SPC camber rods and toe bolts, but I wasn't planning on installing them today. After comtemplating on whether to take apart the toe bolt, I realized that I didn't have the #115 high speed cutting bit to elongate the toe slot.
The lesson here. If you are going to get a true dual exhaust, get your springs and sways done first. It will save you a lot of headache in the end.

use a spring compressor to get the spring out. rent one at autozone
to move anything else........your done!

I tried moving the exhaust. The Borla exhaust uses these clamps. Even after unclampling, it seems that the pieces were fused together. I then tried taking the whole exhaust off the hangers. It would only move about 1/2 an inch. I figured that I needed to unbolt it off of the cats to move it any more. You ever get that feeling that when you try to fix something, you know it's going ot come out worse. I had that feeling so I opted to put the exhaust back before something bad happened.
I got myself a spring compressor. It's really difficult to get the ends of the spring compressor to clamp on properly. I could only clamp to one side of the spring and I couldn't get good access to the bolt to compress the spring. I put everything back together and went to see X-men, which was kind of a let down too. I was too depressed to anything else.
I am going to try to tackle the toe-bolt and install the springs tonight.
