I am looking to replace the trunk mat in my 2009 G37S. It seems there are 2 parts to it...the carpet and the underlying "cardboard" covering the spare tire well. They appear to be attached to each other. Does that mean that if I purchase the carpet, the "cardboard" cover underneath it comes attached to it as well? If not, do I somehow have to separate the old two and then reattach them somehow? Thanks in advance!

 

Yeah it's all one piece which fits over the spare tire. You just need to buy the whole thing... I got a new condition one on eBay for cheap. Had to replace mine due to a spill.

 

Yes, that's the reason for me too...son dumped a container of gas on it and left it there for months. What exactly do I search for on ebay to ensure that I get the entire thing and not just the carpet part?

 

In my case it was milk, even worse lol. I striped the entire trunk down to bare metal, cleaned it with strong chemicals, scrubbed it really well. I had all the trunk panels out so I used carpet cleaner on them and powerwashed them as well. The trunk mat was too far gone so i threw it out and got one from eBay.

 

What did you search for on eBay? When I search, it just can't tell if they are selling just the carpet of the carpet and the underlying "cardboard" that covers the spare tire well.

 

I think i searched cargo floor mat. They all come with the hard backing attached

Well, got the carpet off of e-bay...but, the spare wheel well cover (hard part) did not come with it. So, I guess it doesn't necessarily come with it. How do I get the well well cover part now??
