Motorvate's DIY: Use any ODP app/scanner to see how dirty your throttle body is
Use any OBD app and scanner to see how dirty your throttle body is without opening the hood or getting your hands dirty.
This episode is the result of almost 3 years of data collection using OBD Fusion's diagnostic report. This report allowed me to see the slow changes that occurred over years.
Thank you NeilP!
Just to give you a behind the scenes view:
It took a total of 40 hours to produce that 7 minute video!
(organizing data, creating scripts, recording audio, creating graphics and animations)
I better get back to work on the next episode...

2012 G37S @ 35K miles . I'd say it's doing pretty good. It should be noted, about 2K miles ago (before last road trip) all 3 resets were done (no tb cleaning). Why? Why not. I would think if there is build up then even after resets, absolute values would still be higher because the tb valves can't fully close.
I also had some issues with the nissan ex addon working. It seems i've never actually used torque in any great capacity since getting this phone january of 2017. Back then I just restored torque and settings using titanium backup as the app itself doesn't have an import/export settings function. To get the nissan ex addon working again I had to uninstall it, delete NADV pids under settings/manage extra pids/clear list, reinstall the addon, then add predefined pids under settings/manage extra pids. That's why the pic below isn't showing vvt temp or engine rpm. It's working correctly now.

I'm not sure how you thought of the video ideas for this OBD 2 series b ut they are really good.
I thought I knew how to use my scanners and diagnose issues and didn't expect to learn so much from them but t they are so helpful especially how you break things down...thanks again for your hard work man
I don't doubt that it took so long given the high quality of the productions.

Thanks! The OBD scanner provide a lot of information, BUT they are not easy to understand what it means...
That's the problem I am going fix.
The InfinitiEX plugin can be tricky to get it to work, but it does provide a lot of nice information, like oil temp.

DIY posts like this are great because they show how small insights — like checking how dirty your throttle body is — can make a real difference in performance and enjoyment. It’s a reminder that thoughtful tools and habits matter more than hype or shortcuts. The same goes for personal routines: the ones that feel intuitive and supportive help you stick with progress over time. That’s why I think platforms like https://wellness‑app.com/ fasting tracker app are cool — they focus on practical, steady support that helps you stay consistent without overwhelming you.
