Cleaned throttle bodies and MAFs(my observations and a helpful link)

Well. Before I started I read the DIY on our forums and watched a few videos on YouTube, Motorvate DIY And AlexKayRNs.

Background: I bought my G37x sedan Two months ago. Has 77,000 miles on it right now. It also was idling at 1000 rpms. Never any lower. I started looking into it and our Gs are supposed to idle at 650-700.

My observations. My throttle bodies had so much carbon build up! I can tell this may have never been done before. After doing my research this was simple and I was all done in less than an hour. I used the throttle body cleaner and MAF cleaner that is in the picture below. Sprayed. Wire brush. Wipe with microfiber towel rinse and repeat until they were shining. Afterwards I did however find that I was now idling at 1500 rpms once at operating temperature and my SES light was on Yikes! So I followed this handy video on YouTube that I have enclosed a link for below as well. Problem solved and then some! I averaged where normally I might get 22mpg I’m now getting 24. Throttle responds much better as well!! Idle is finally at 650 and just seems smoother. If ANYONE is having the issue where they get a check engine light or higher idle I implore you to follow this videos instructions and light will disappear and idle will smooth out. Hope this helps!!
