Can we make a concerted effort to contact the people who have made DIY how-to guides to request they migrate their photos from photobucket?

I know, it's a very bad situation, Photobucket really screwed all of us, and without any warning.
At least our site will now let you load pics straight from your PC. I'll make an announcement in that folder ASAP.

Much appreciated. Seems like there's been a flux of new members, myself included, who would be leaning on those DIY for future mods.

Unfortunately, photobucket is holding any uploaded photos hostage until you pay the $400.00 fee. So you can't even get them back if that's the only copy. Awful business practice from a company on its last legs.

I'll try to update as I mod but it won't come near what's been lost. Let this be a warning for anyone who uses any type of Cloud service. Have back-ups saved separately...

Yeah, it was a **** move on their behalf. I'm still able to access my (decade old) pictures on photobucket and download them, so maybe the fee is just for hosting on third party sites?

Maybe we can compile a list of "Most Needed" how-tos and either work on recovery or redoing the thread. I have several little projects coming up soon and would be happy to contribute.

That's a good idea. I do most of my own maintenance and if there's a list of needed DIY pics, i'm happy to check some off. In just the past couple weeks i could have done one for fluid changes on the F&R diffs, transfer case and the 7at as well as adjusting the parking brake. Probably doing brake fluid before it gets cold out.

There's many how to's on youtube too. These can be quite helpful if not more so.
