Make your own ATF fluid pump on the cheap
As if needing a special tool for filling the 7AT transmission wasn't enough of a hassle, the fluid pumps that they sell to go with it are outrageously expensive. I decided to whip one up from a cheap garden sprayer. I've included a pic of my reciept with all the part numbers you need to grab the stuff at lowes. Screw the adapter into the fill plug. Pour a gallon of ATF in the tank, pump up the pressure, crack the ball valve and let it flow.
This plus an Assenmacher ATF 180 adapter and you're in business
update: CTA Tools 7425 also works and is half the price of the assenmacher
update: The thread pitch for the fill tube is M8x1.0, a threaded hose barb should work and, if available, may only be a few dollars. Good luck finding metric hose barbs locally
All done for less than $70.

And to think I wanted to spend $150 bucks on an ATF tool... this is MUCH better! Thanks OP!
Edit: Is there anything special about the fitting other than it can thread onto the pan? I'm assuming it makes it easier to do as a 1 man job rather than a person holding it firmly against the pan.

Underrated DIY.
If you were to buy the tool where you have the pump reservoir and the fitting, you're looking at $225, that is if you manage to buy it because only dealers can buy it off tech mate.
The product number you're looking for J-49829. Good luck buying it, above in OP is the best alternative that is also cost effective and not going to leave you drenched in fluid during the service.

Hit 66k, had a nice day and decided it was time. This worked GREAT. Pumped a gallon of ATF in just a few minutes. Since i had a shutoff valve built in, it made the job super easy.
Used valvoline maxlife and 10oz of Lubegard Platinum. Car shifts like new.

Does it matter what ATF you use? I have a 7t, does the atf have to be oem from the dealership?

I used Valvoline Maxlife, which is a full synthetic multi-vehicle ATF that meets nissan matic-s specs. Its about $20 a gallon at walmart or most auto parts stores. The factory stuff is quite expensive in comparison.

if you want to hold the hose with one hand and pump with the other while stabilizing an open bottle of ATF with your foot, that's your prerogative. This is no spill, no mess and you just have to pump it enough to build up pressure. makes this a quick, no hassle job

So I bought all the same products listed and the 1/4 in poly tube does not fit into the 1/4 in hose barb. Do I need a bigger tube?
Also I noticed you use lubeguard, Do you mix that with Maxlife and add it the transmission and leave it in?
