Thanks! I do have a autoranging MM and will try it. It sounded like the BCM has very small wires but will try that next.

If you do end up going the BCM route and need to tap those thin wires, Posi-Taps should do the trick. I used them to tap into the Bose Amp wires, those wires are crazy thin and the Posi-Taps worked like a charm. I got them off amazon, great item to have in the tool box.

I have a bunch of the inline waterproof kind in blue and may not work due to size.

Having bought the same light strips above I had another idea.
First off yes I need to get proper LEDs for the housing it looks like crap and I apologize for the fuzziness of the cell pics.

Removed the housing, then lens.
Stripped the wire ~1' and wound it up in a small loop to make contact because it was real thin.
Determined the polarity and marked the proper lead location with a sharpie dot. The lens also goes on only one way.
Moved the leads toward each other and away from the white housing.
Ran the wires thought the small square hole in the side.
Jambed the small loops between the lead and the housing.
Took a think blade screw driver and jammed the wire down in the valley just to the right (in pic) for a hold down (it may work)
Repeat for other wire.
Tested, ok
Used a very small zip tie (Thomas & Betts are the best with an aluminum tang) I tied the wire to the housing for a strain relief.
Reinstalled light that will help keep leads against the housing.
Tested, ok
Reinstalled
Tested, ok

Also the "3M" logo on these is just that a logo. It is not real 3M adhesive tape.

This is:

The removed backing wrapped around REAL 3M adhesive that I had to use because the Chinese version didn't stay. Yes I cleaned the bottom of the door first.

The wire doesn't show unless your on the floor. I can color with a sharpie to hide the red wire.

On to the trunk. Yes need LED here too, maybe.

After having determined polarity I removed them by pushing the brass tang in with precision screw driver and using needle nose pliers.
Threaded wire through the small hole in the bottom of the housing.
Stripped ~1" again I wrapped the wire around the bottom of the lead.
Same for other side.
Installed lead back in housing. It took a bit of force to get them to go back in place with wire under them.
Tested, ok.
Installed bulb.
Tested, ok.
Remounted.
Yes I had to use actual 3M adhesive tape because it would never stick to pile/fuzz/carpet.
Also had to install disconnects so I can remove the upper panel. No pic here but I reversed the connectors so I would mistake proofed myself!

I ordered the controller from above and will get another set of LEDs so I can do the front and rear footwells...for reals this time.

ご幸運を祈ります!

I've used these on many applications and they work amazing. You can cut them any size from 1 inch to 3 feet. In groups of 3. They run on anywhere from 3v with a max brightness at 12v. Also come in a ton of different colors.
