MirrorTap

Hey guys, i am trying to connect my 9500ix to my rear miorror using MirrorTap. However, i am having a hard time forcing the pin into the connector from the auto dimming mirror. Should i just literally force it in? Or is there a trick to it? Thanks!

It has been about 2 years since I mounted my 9500ix with the blendmount and MirrorTap cord so my memory is kind of fuzzy but I seem to remember just following the instructions and forcing the pins in the back of the connector. It seems like I remember it taking a fair amount of force but nothing heroic.

Take a sewing needle, lock it in a small of vice grips, put sharp part of needle into the area you wanna put the tap in and work it in there a bit. Wire tap should be a little easier to work in there.

Least what I did anyway...worked for me.

Thanks guys! I was just afraid i would break it or something... guess i need more force. Thanks! Just to make sure, i cannot insert it on the empty slot on top of the black and brown wire right? Since that'll defect the purpose of tapping the wire... haha..

Mine took some force. I also have the 9500ix with mirrortap and blendmount.
