Brake upgrade?
Brake upgrade?
I have a 2010 g37x I don't believe it is sport, it has 17 inch wheels and I was wondering if I can upgrade to the big brake kit everyone is doing it seems like, and I've been looking it seems people have the akebono ones or something, I want to see what kind of options are out there list of different name brands,
Also big question will they work for my 17 inch wheels I don't want to get any new wheels ATM unless i get a awesome deal on them.
I need to change out my brakes soon because I feel vibrations on them

For bigger brakes you'll need bigger rims. My brakes are hanging by a thread too; vibrations at high speed decel and about 25% pads left. I'm getting EBC black slotted rotors (not sure what the exact name is) with Akebono pads prob. Same size but way cooler looking and maybe better performance.
Bbk
My wife and I just bought matching G37 sedans. I got a G37S and my wife got the Journey. Each car has almost identical options. The only option that she has that I don't is the backup sonar.
Driving down the streets and cruising on the freeway, I can tell you (along with Edmunds, Car and Driver, etc.) that the BBK has no advantage over the stock brake system. The stopping distance is within 1 foot of each other. And do you really want to change wheels and spend $2,500 for one foot of stopping distance? Up to you.
I will say that the area where the BBK will take over is repeated stops, such as a road course or aggressive street driving. Also, if you are coming down from speeds over 80 mph. So it just depends on how much money you have to spend and what kind of driving you do. Best of luck man.
