About to attempt this today. 1st time DIY a coolant change. When am I suppose to open the heater hose air relief plug in the back of the engine bay? Also, I close that relief plug after I see coolant come out of it, like the radiator relief plug?
Help! I drained radiator and still have brown coolant
I just drained my radiator and coolant reservoir tank but still Not sure what else to do please somebody give me a some advice.
have brown coolant. How do I drain coolant from engine? Or what should I do next? I have 3 codes come up wit check engine light. P010c MAF sensor, p0106 MAP sensor, p1217 thermostat. My car it’s over really overheating as much as it’s losing power and skips or jerks when I press gas to accelerate. I have a picture of what coolant looks like and I’m currently not driving and my car is a 11 G37 Sedan

Sounds like a head gasket to me, do a compression check.
To answer your question pulling the lower radiator hose is the easiest way to drain the system.
Just adding to this thread. I did this procedure recently and found my o ring (petcock drain) went bad. Dealer wanted $20 for a new one. I wasn't going to pay that.
The one labelled "A011" is the right size. I've driven it like a bat out of hell for the past week (after letting it warm up). No leaks. Plus viton is a great sealing material.

Reason: Specify where o-ring goes

Which O-ring we talking about? on the radiator to upper hose ?

The o ring that goes on the petcock drain. I wanted to "upgrade" the o-ring. Mine was slightly ripped and as I was pouring fresh coolant in, droplets were leaking so that's how I knew the o-ring was bad.
I drove my car like a bat out of hell for the last week and no leaks, so it's good to go.

Did you figure out why oil, or very old transmission fluid is in your coolant? This is alot more important than the petcock as it signifies head gasket or radiator (coolant and trannie fluid share the same radiator) damage.

I think you meant to respond to rayycashh, that guy was the one with the problem.
No oil in my coolant. Valve cover gaskets, timing cover and gallery gaskets were all replaced by the dealer under warranty back in 2018.
