Does self-healing paint require special products or processes?
I recently put a nice little surface scratch set in the rear bumper of my coupe courtesy of a distraction and a garage door (oops!). I have a high quality random orbital polisher I've been using on everything from cars to boats over the years, and I'm curious if I can continue my typical paint rejuvenation processes on my new G37?
Does the Infiniti self-healing paint require any special products or processes in order to use a power polisher? Or can I use the same stuff I use on my FX?

Start less aggressive and work up as needed. Nothing special as far as needing different compounds or anything like that. I've had some weird experience with mine as in having a tough time getting out scratches. But I think there may have been some other factors involved. In general, I believe we have soft clear coat. So just be careful and go easy until you know what is needed as far as aggressiveness in compound, pad, speed, and pressure.

I don't care for the paint on our cars. It is too soft, which is a big issue when battling #2 water spots. It actually makes them nearly impossible to remove. I have some on the roof of my car from when I bought it. I thought no big deal I can get those out I've always been able to. But nope they will not come out. I've ever wet sanded a section using 2000 grit and it barely did anything but mar the paint. I compounded and polished and I'm not very happy. Proper prep is always taken. I will say when the paint is in good shape it shines beautifully. I like some of the colors the G offers, while some I'm not a big fan of. Lexus has better colors.
