If your paint is pulling fibers from the towel, it sounds like you need to clay bar.

The clay bar is the most underused and underestimated tool in the car washing world.

I normally use a chamois or similar product. On my last car wash, I used microfiber. I was surprised at how well it dried it. It rings out about as dry as a chamois, so I think I did the whole car with a single microfiber towel.

I wasn't too concerned with how it dried...which is why I tried it. I was planning on putting a liquid wax on afterwards with a DA buffer...so I just needed it to be dry, not caring about how it looked dry.

During that car washing above (like 2 weeks ago)...I used the clay bar for the first time. The clay didn't really get very dirty, so I either did it wrong, or the paint was very clean to begin with.

The best one's are the ones you can get a local detail distributor's or online. The ones in stores aren't so great they tend to collapse or do little to nothing.
Here's a link the ones we use..

I do both suggestions. If you don't already own a great vac I'd highly recommend this guy:

RIDGID 16-gal. Wet/Dry Vacuum with Detachable Blower-WD1680 at The Home Depot

With this option you get a powerful vac for the interior. You also get a removable blower that is quite powerful. And unlike your leaf blower, you can just put the tip on the end of the blower. IE, you can shorten the length of the blower. This is incredibly useful. It makes it much easier to steer the wind without banging the blower into the paint. Anyways, blow the car off from the top down (always work top down). Pay special attention to the weather stripping, grille, trunk, door openings, etc.

Now...get your waffle weave town and fold it in 1/4th's. Make sure you fold it flat. Don't bunch the towel up! Wipe gently to remove the rest of the water. Unfold and refold to keep the towel dry.

It should take 1-3 full size towels to dry a sedan.
