front end bra

What is your opinion of a black front bra on a G37 sedan, they are a lot cheaper than the clear shield but will they damage the paint?

Don't like them. They look atrocious and they will damage the paint over time.

LeBra, Covercraft and Wolf don't have a G37 sedan offering.

The Colgan bra has to be one of the most unattractive I've ever seen. But its function over form. If you have a planned road trip, using it for such isn't a bad idea. But their website now indicates they only make them for coupes. They did have sedans at a time, you might be able to find them online maybe.

The Infiniti OEM nose mask does nothing to protect the hood. $90 at dealers. 999N1-JW0SX is the part number. Non-sport models without a chin spoiler.

If the vinyl bra is of quality, it shouldn't mar the finish. Trouble comes when owners (or high school kids) leave them on for weeks/months/years at a time, loading them up with sand and grime.

I'm pretty satisfied with my $20 3M Paint Defender solution.

Yes, make sure the car is very ugly and protected so the next owner can take it off and have a beautiful OEM paint job.

In all seriousness though, you are probably best off to go natural. Even the clear bras can discolor and need replacement. If you are worried about resale value, it will have a minimal impact. If it ends up looking really bad when you go to sell, go get an el-cheapo bumper spray since you're selling the car anyways. The cheap respray will probably cost less than the clear bra anyways and you will probably be fine without it.

Rochester has good advice, just allow much more room behind the car in front of you and make quick passes. Following too close will rip this paint to shreds.

Does plastic parts have the same paint as the rest of the car's?

I am asking is because the paint doesn't chip off from the bumper like the rest of the car.

AFAIK it does but for whatever reason the paint on the body metal really chips off easily, so it may be a primer issue along w/ the low VOC paint process. The bumper is more prone to pits compared to the body metal.

If I were to guess, the bumper has some give when struck by small stones while the hood has none.
Because I am real **** on the appearance of my vehicles I learned to drive defensively to avoid chips.
One of the things I do is wait until I can make a fast pass around trucks, especially dump trucks. I stay back far enough until I can make a complete pass. Whenever possible I get over two lanes when passing dump trucks or regular trucks without rear flaps.

My bra is coming in today. I ordered it a few weeks ago. My G37 is a daily driver and I'll put over 30,000 miles on it per year. I've always placed bra's on my cars. I wash my car at least once a week (With the bra on) and have it detailed and waxed once a month (With the bra off) and the paint is fine. I've never had any marks on any of my cars. It may not look that great with the bra on but trust me it's better then having to repaint the front bumper.

I agree they are not that great looking but they won't damage your car/paint if you take care of your car properly. The reason why the car/paint looks like crap after time on most peoples cars is because people never take them off to wash or wax their car.
Trust me with all the miles I put on car and not having the bra on it would look like you took a sandblaster to the front bumper.
