Oil VS Trunk carpet

Hi guys,

Trying to figure out how to get the last of the oil residue out of my carpet? Ive tried vacuuming it 3 times now and using Turtle wax shampoo? What should I be using to get the oil out?

BTW when I had my oil cooler installed the shop put the extra quart of oil in my trunk net and by the time I got home it spilled all over the place

The removable floor carpet? Take it out try a mixture of dawn dish soap in water. Scrub vigorously and then steam clean it to get all the soap residue out. If it's on the sides, throw them out and replace them. Not expensive and less effort than trying to clean them.

I might also try spraying it with some sort of degreaser to break up the oil then a detergent followed by a wash with a pressure washer. Not sure if this wound cause any discoloration or damage to the carpet though.

BB, you are right on the money as usual. I've done this many times without color loss. So, spray it, scrub it, rinse it. Then take your Vac and go slow, hang to to dry the rest of it out.
