Removing scratches on aluminum trim around shift ****

Hi all,

I just bought my G37 a couple of days ago and one thing that's been bothering me is scratches around the ash tray. It doesn't look pretty and I would like to know if any others had this kind of issue. I really wanted to get a brand new one and put it on myself but it looks it's something hard to do. Does anyone know how to remove this? I would like to get this done as soon as possible.

Thanks!!

Unfortunately, you aren't going to be able to remove those scratches. Im not sure of procedure for unclipping that piece.

Damn!! I thought I could just sand it off with fine sand paper without removing them from where they are.

I found this after doing a little searching:

http://www.activetechdesigns.com/downloads/AT-G.pdf

The link was posted by myg37 member "terrycs"

That should at least get you started in the removal process.

One option you could consider instead of buying new dash pieces would be to wrap them. Here's a link: https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-cou...iber-trim.html

I've seen people do carbon fiber, black, and brushed aluminum.
