My whole detailing arsenal is chemical guys yes they have great products but most have fillers in them if u ever watched there polishing vids they never strip off the polishing oils before they apply wax or sealant that's because all they're v line polishes have fillers.

Poorboy's World Natty's Blue Paste Wax works great on both my black cars and is a pretty good value.

The Red might work better on your blue slate G.

My favorite sealant is by far Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection. You can stop there and have a real nice wet looking shine, slickness, and top notch paint protection....but I always top it off with Blackfire Midnight Sun for that extra warm glow and extra paint protection.

Between two bucket washes, I use Blackfire Waterless Wash to keep that flawless "just washed" look.

Give it the Zaino package. It's a inexpensive wax and the Z5 product is great.

Suggest that you try the polish first (after clay) to remove your surface imperfections. If that doesn't work then try the compound. After the compound, best results will usually be obtained by polishing, then wax. Since you went the Meguiars route, I suggest their Ultimate liquid wax (its really a sealant). You can apply it with the PC or by hand.

I have had really good results with the Ultimate wax, but on my Ultra Red 300zx, I wait a week or so, then apply a high quality carnauba over the sealant. The Z sits in the garage all the time. Hot sun will break down carnauba fairly quickly, so I don't both on the G.

Good luck.

Big Zaino fan. Easy to apply and lasts a loooong time. I could easily get by with only an annual application to my vehicles. It helps that they're garaged, but still impressive.

I used the Z5 about one a month. You really get the depth and glass look. Gotta give it multiple layers.

You use it once/month? Wow... Does your car stay outside all the time? Do you do the entire Dawn/clay/Z-2/Z-5 process each month?

Blackfire, Pinnacle, Wolfgang, Chemical Guys, the real Zymol (not the OTC stuff) and P21S all make superior products. You really can't go wrong there. Get a package that includes a swirl remover/compound type abrasive that will remove your swirls and scratches, a polish to polish away the marring from the swirl/compound and a sealant/wax for protection. clay bar your car first though. If you don't your could create more scratches as the swirl remover/compound will break free contaminants in your paint and use them to etch your paint. It's a long tedious process and better if you have the right pads and a good random orbital.

Wax will last between 3-5 months. A sealant will last longer.

Most of us polish, and then apply a sealant. Then we come back with a wax ON TOP (important, not under, but over) to add some warmth back to the paint.

My preferred wax is Pinnacle Sovereign paste.

Sovereign paste is awesome. P21S 100% carnuba IMO is just as good. I agree with you 100% though. Seal then wax for the look. Klasse paint sealant followed by Sovereign is an awesome combo too.
