Question What Product to use on rims?

I know there is some product out there that U can spray on a Aftermarket rims safely. Without staining it. Anyone know what it is? I just bought new Work Rims. and don't want to rub off the dirt when it gets rained on from driving in the rain. As to not scratch it? Like spray on then hose off dirt? Would apprecite the info.

Everyone seems to like sonax wheel cleaner. I think you still need to loosen dirt with a brush like the ez brush.

you'll need one of those high lubricity sprays try chemical guys eco smart or hybrid v7 there is also optimum no rinse wash and wax. make sure you wipe in one direction and anything you spray on well stain if not wiped off so i have no idea what your referring too. Spot Free Rinse type of product? i find that to still leave stains.

P21S or Sonax wheel cleaners. Both are excellent and can be used on any wheels safely.

Clay bar them and Opti-coat. It needs 24+hrs to cure but worth the wait and sweat equity. Opti-coat is the best stuff in the world

Opti Coat 2.0 / Opti-Coat Pro

I also use the PS21 which is a great product for cleaning. Poor boys makes a nice wheel wax but it only lasts for about 3 months. I recently started using the 22ple rim sealant 22ple VM1 Rim and Metal Coating - 20 ml | Free Shipping Available - Detailed Image. It looks great but I cant speak to longevity.

even if he opti coated he would still need to wash them from time to time.

That's obvious it sounds like he wanted more of a preventative step. The opticoat is the first thing to do, next use suds of your choice. That's the easy part. I like Chem guys, Zaino and Meguiars ultimate.

Ok this sounds weird but it actually works beautifully! Oven cleaner. I have used it before and it gets brake dust off with ease and then you soap and water the wheels like normal. Also if you wax your wheels, in between washes you can just dust em down easily. Has worked for me for years, no fading, no discoloration...nothing

Oven cleaner sounds harsh and abrasive maybe you could also clean them with steel wool. After spending years on the forums with countless hours of research, I can't fathom the idea of oven cleaner. I've owned many sets of wheels including Volk's, Advans, Work and HRE's.
I would only recommend oven cleaner on Varrstolen, Rota and Vossen wheels

There is nothing harsh about it. There are no abrasives in oven cleaner...if there were the inside of your oven would be all scratched up. I don't use it everyday, but I have used it quite a few times and it works just fine. Its really no more harsh than some of the other cleaners on the market specifically for wheels.

I use 3 items:

for heavy soiling I use Sonax Sonax Wheel Cleaner Full Effect
Its important that you use a pressure washer to rinse after sonax to really see the difference, regular garden hose water pressure will not cut it. The stuff is the best hands down

For maintenance I use P21S Gel with the EZ brush.
DI Brushes EZ Detail Brush - Full Size
P21S Gel Wheel Cleaner - 500ml Kit
The brush is awesome, best investment ever, I have both sizes and they are extremely handy.

Here are some results from my previous coupe.

WOW! lots of info! LOL.. Thnx Guy's. I use Smartwax on my rims right now. I luv it. I was just looking for something that like would loosen the dirt on the Lips....then hose off. Trying to prevent scratching the lips after a rain storm. I Know I'll still have to hand job some of the dirt....I'm scared to use any strong chemicals. I see alotta guy's have stains on thier Lips or Center. Don't want to risk it with my brand New Work Rims I just put on! LOL. Thnx for the Helpfull suggestions!

the products we suggested are high quality products and will not damage your wheels nor are they harsh chemicals. Both Sonax and P21S will serve you well.
