I also have VentureShield on my sedan. I ended up actually having the repaint the ENTIRE front end (bumper, lip, fenders, and hood) prior to clear braing mine. DON'T WAIT! Side note - the regular 3M stuff is decent too - VentureShield seems to be a little thin (you have to compromise somewhere though). A friend of mine rubbed his 3M (thicker) clear bra on some sort of post, and it saved his paint. I bottomed the front end of my lip out, and it took of the clear bra and ate up the FRESH paint. Wasn't happy, but I shouldn't been more careful.

Paint protection film has been out about 20 years and is a growing market. I have pulled film off of cars that has been on there 7-8 years and the paint was as pristine as the day it was installed. Its a great product if you want to keep your front end chip free. I have been installing ventureShield Ultra for about 9 years now and do carry Xpel as well as a new film by Suntek. All are great films and all fo them are pretty much the same thickness. Any of those films will be great. Key is to get a good installer that knows what they are doing. A bad installer with any film can equal a bad experience. So check aorund and find a reputable shop. It will more than likely cost more than the tint shop down the street but they will be providing you a better finished product. If you have any more questions feel free to let me know.

I know after 120,00 miels on my G35 coupe I didnt have a rock chip anywhere on the car... and it saw many trips to Vegas from Socal where the roads are full of gravel and sand.

I just spoke to Tim Brand, Svc Mgr, at Nalley Infiniti Marietta and they use an outside vendor to apply the 3m. About $700 to do front bumper and 1/4 way up hood. $499 for just the bumper or hood. Tim knows how particular I am about the car's appearance and he said they will never be perfect, but the vendor does an outstanding job. I am considering this vs about $114 for a nose bra. I am planning to keep this one, a 2012 Obsidian Black Journey Sedan for a long time.

^ That price may be a bit high for the amount you are getting. See my post #9 from this thread.

I've had it on my daily driven V36 since 12/06. Still looks great with no paint problems even through some pretty hot summers and harsh road trips.
