Cleaning exhaust tips.

My Tanabe tips are starting to look all nasty, so I've been looking for DIY's online on how to clean and polish them....

I found this and thought I'd share to everyone and have a small contribution to this section of the forum.

You're welcome.

On my Tanabe's I use the P21S Metal Polishing Soap with regular washes to keep them fresh. Then whenever they start to get buildup or have been really dirty I use the P21S Finish Restorer. They still look brand new after a good cleaning.

In general a good metal polish will help you with this process. The Optimum Metal Polish is a great choice and it's on sale too. The P21S Metal Polishing Soap and P21S Finish Restorer are two other premium choices. If that doesn't work and you need something really strong use some really fine grade steel wool and then use a metal polish after that. Again I highly recommend reading this article - Exhaust Tip Detailing – Detailed Image. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

What if I want to polish out the blue burnt look on my tips? What do you recommend for that?

Blue-Job Chrome and Metal Polish has a unique non abrasive, highly concentrated, powder formula, guaranteed to remove bluing and add a long lasting shine, without scratching or dulling the finish surface. Will leave exhaust tips more resistant to future bluing or tarnishing.

And yes I carefully typed "Blue-Job"
