Griots Detailing Kit

My girlfriend got me a car detailing kit for x-mas, so I thought I would share. I used to have a Porter Cable and a bunch of pads and accessories that I bought from Detailed Image, but that got stolen a while back. Still makes me mad to think about it!

I think some will comment on the quality of the products and that is fine. I will tell you what I think from using the products and you all can judge what you think.

OVERALL IMPRESSION:
I am very happy with this kit! It would not be exactly what I would have purchased for myself, but if I purchased the same or equivalent products separately it would have cost a bunch more for sure.

THE POLISHER:
The polisher is a 6inch random orbital. It came with a hard (orange) pad and a less agressive (red) pad. The construction of the polisher seems really nice. It feels like a quality polisher when you hold it and my guess is that it is actually a product made by one of the name brand companies and labeled as Griots product. (just like speakers or Kirkland signature)
The polisher operates great and did the job exactly as my porter cable did.

THE COMPOUND:
The kit came with a "level 2" and "level 3" polish. These are ceramic compounds and are not too agressive. Thankfully, the G has no major blemishes, so a more agressive compound is not something I need.

Overall, these compounds seem to be of good quality for a two step paint correction process.

OTHER PRODUCTS:
The kit comes with a bunch of other stuff, including interior detailer and leather protectant. The quick detailer is great and comparable to the McGuiars product I have used in the past. The carnuba wax provided in the kit is also very good. It applies and sets well and from what I can tell it is another good quality product.

RAGS:
The rags are awesome! I didn't know there was a difference in the type of micro fiber rags, but there is and the kit supplied a good number of them!

THE CARRIER:
This is the best part for me. Living in so-cal and not having your own driveway to wash your ride is a pain. The kit allows me to go to a self wash and bucket wash the G without a big box of crap in my trunk. Also, it stores the polisher, which is pretty slick. The kit also has a dust over, so when it sits, the **** detailer can be sure that there is no dust that has gathered on his micro fibre rags.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:
This is my one issue. Apparently they charged 50 to ship and promised gift wrapping, which my GF paid for. There was no gift wrapping and in the days of Amazon free shipping charging that much is a rip off. I will have words with them about this, but that being said, I understand that their market is mainly older guys that are used to being raked over the coals for this type of stuff.

Did I miss something? If I did I know the G lovers will catch it!

Which polisher would you recommend, griots or porter cable?
