help! no time to detail
help! no time to detail
after reading many posts on this forum, it is apparent that i do not have the time (job w/ long hrs and 2 kids) or will to detail as extensively as i should. i live in the NE (bad winters) and drive about 30 miles/day...
i have resigned myself to the occasional "touchless" car wash. i have read about optiumum no rinse, opti-seal and various spray waxes... does anyone have any methods/tips to keep time and effort to a minimum?
thanks

No worries..
Listen man,
I'm from Mass as well, and I too travel about 32 miles to work everyyydayyy. lol. I know how hard it can be to maintain a beautiful car with rain and snow constantly. Its unfortunate you hardly have enough time in a day, but before we get slammed with snow, (which Im sure you already know) either do it yourself, or go to a detail shop and get a well worth wax job. Protects the paint to a certain degree.
Otherwise my mann, if you have at least a good 20min-30min after your swing your G through a car wash, grab some stuff called Pinnacle Crystal Mist. And spray and wipe away after your washes. I recommend a wax job before applying the mist, but if time is of the essence just use the mist. I just posted a thread on a pinnacle souveran wax kit I picked up last week. This stuff is absolutely insane. I fell in love with it instantly. Here's my post check it out for a reference.

Once again I recommend the entire kit, but if you cant do so, just order the mist separately. and If you do, let me know what you think.!
Hope this helps.

yeah pay a detailer to do it for you... lol
winter isn't a good time for car cleaning cause you need heat to apply the wax correctly. not really much you can do without working in a well insulated garage.
ideally you'd have a lot of layers of carnuba to make your surface slick. and just spray on with a foaming wash and dry. that's what I do at least... I don't wash my car during the winter, but the rain/dirt doesn't stick and if it does it sprays right off.
