lots of time on my hands...just keep waxing?

I recently got a 2010 g37x sedan.

So of course I was bit by the detail bug.

I have clay bar'd and sealed my car so far. And I will put 2 coats of wax on next.

But I have lots of time to continue detailing every 2-3 days.

Should I just keep waxing? Will that do any harm/good?

Is there something else I should look into doing?

Thanks all.

well you shouldnt just wax it w/o washing at the very least...you might put on another coat or two but to just keep washing and putting wax on every 2-3 days is a little excessive and waste of wax IMHO

but hey, if you want to do it and post pics of how it turns out

Oh no I would wash it each time before I wax.

Yea I figured it might be excessive.

Just enjoying the new car I guess.

haha I know how you feel

I wash mine every weekend, wax 1x/month, and do a full detail every 5-6 months depending on how bad it is

just get out there and drive! the best way to enjoy your new G

You should look into polishing then. It'll be a good 10-15 hrs for ya! Strip the wax, clay bar, polish, seal, then wax.

Have fun!

You could find a racetrack or something, perhaps. Personally I'd rather spend more time driving it than cleaning it.

I'm slightly envious though . I can't say that I have your problem with idle time. Not for the past 2.5 years since my daughter was born at least.

Applying multiple coats of wax will only do good if they wax will layer. Any waxes with cleaners will not layer on top of each other and just take the previous one off. Even with waxes that do layer you have to wait the proper cure time to put on the next layer. Usually 12-24 hours between each. Same thing applies with sealant too, you need to wait atleast 12 hours before applying wax or anything. This is only for most sealants and waxes though. There are a slight few out there that will layer without having to wait more than an hour or two between cure times.
