Detailing School?

I have been very inspired by all of the great detailing info on this site, and I would like to get some more hand-on experience with things like machine polishing, etc. I have come across a few 'detailing schools' online (teaching done on location, not online) , and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these types of things or had some advice for how to learn more. thanks in advance!

there are lot of GREAT tutorials on detailedimage.com as well as an "ask the pro" section where you can get answers to your specific questions

Where are you located? I'm in SoCal and I know Meguairs has Saturday classes where you can come and learn. There are also one or two detailers that hold sessions every now and then. Detailed Image is a great place too.

It would be nice if there were some detailing classes somewhere other than Florida and California where the rest of us shmos live, like in Maryland

If that's so, then Autopia - Autopia Home is for you. It's a forum specific for professional and enthusiasts. They share new techniques, and help others become better detailers.

Good luck.

I went to an autogeek.net class in Stuart FL on Saturday - it was excellent. taught by a pro and really really informative. you get hands on experience with several polishers and sanders, I highly recommend to anyone that wants to expand their knowledge base. Thanks Loi for suggesting it!
