So after almost a year of wasting money and time with horse **** products ive decided to do things the proper way. My birthday is coming up soon and I plan on getting a PC7274.
I have never used an orbital buffer before and I want to minimize any risk. What do you I need to buy with the PC. What type of cutting bad ( i prefer light) and what abrasive polish do you recomend (mind you I would prefer a light-med abrasive because I dont want to damage the vehicle's paint). Thank you,.
If you want just a light cutting polish, my favorite is Menzerna PO106FF, a choice of many. YOu can't go wrong with it.
You can use it on a white polishing pad or an orange light cutting pad for more bite. I use white. Doing damage to your finish with the PC isn't easy, it's very safe to use.
BTW the PC Starter Package has everything you'll need polisher and pad wise. That's the one I started with. If you want to save a few bucks, I'm considering selling my PC soon and getting a Flex.
Does the Started kit come with a polisher? I dont see it listed on the list.
PS any coupon codes around for a discount?
This is the PC starter kit. It has the polisher, backing plate, and a variety of pads. Use 10offg37 code for 10% off of most things. The starter kit is excluded.
Were you wondering if it comes with a polishER or polish? Like BB said it comes with the polisher and and the accessories for it. It does not come with any actual polishes.

What is a polisher? You mean the buffer itself? Either way it doesnt come with a polish so ill tack that on.

Polisher/buffer = same thing. As far as polish, I'm going to next try the PO106FA which is just a newer improved version if the PO106FF. If I had to have only 1 polish I could ever use, this would be it.
If I use the polish you recomended and use the white or yellow pad will I get paint hazing. A lot of article i have read say paint hazing is common and that you may need to use a fine finishing polish.

If you pair the PO106FA with a yellow pad, you will most likely get micro-marring on the paint (Hazing). But if you use it with a white pad (light, finishing pad) you shouldn't get any hazing. I've heard of lots of detailers that use the PO106FA as both a medium and a finishing polish. Just be sure to pair it with the appropriate pad for the finish you are trying to achieve. If you get micro marring with a yellow pad, you could then use the same PO106FA polish with a white pad and very little pressure to get rid of the marring. Again, from what I've heard.

The polish I just recommended is a fine finishing polish, one of the best on the market. DO NOT use a yellow pad with it. Use the white pad and you will get great results, the yellow pad is much too aggressive.
