Hose a car down?
Hose a car down?
I live in SoCal and for the last wk or more I have not washed the car. I feel bad for leaving the dirt on the car for so long cuz I feel like its corroding the clear coat. The question that I have is that is it worth to at least hose down the car? I have not been able to was it because its been raining daily for the last couple of days and otherwise it has been cold. So should I at least hose it down? There is a self serve car wash near by with desalinized water, should I at least do that.

I disagree, a pressure washer (low setting) should be fine on the car. You'd need a pretty high PSI to do damage on your car, and most car wash places should fall below that threshold. As DiamondG said in that other thread, anything below 1200 PSI should be fine (I saw a website recommending 700-1000).
Of course, there are those 2000+ PSI ones that people use on heavy duty equipment...I definitely wouldn't recommend using something like that.

No kidding. If thats the case, I'm scared to wash the inches of salt off of my coupe when it warms up. The entire car is white, and its been sub zero temps for almost the past month, so its built up quite a bit. We'll see what it looks like when I get a chance to clean it up. (I have a feeling it will be going to a professional detailer for a detail...)
