How NOT to detail your car
I'm pretty sure that the detailers on this forum would never do crap like that and neither would any knowledgeable and reputalbe detailer who maintains any type of clientele who cares about their cars. Can you imagine walikg up and finding your "detailer" using 409 or harsh chemicals with and old ratty mitt and spraying water on your door panel, carpet, and into your trunk??? I'd actually be speechless and that's difficult to do.
their excuse is because since the car is being washed inside and outside....including steam cleaning of the carpets and seats, that's why it wouldn't matter if the interior was wet, or the door panels were wet, etc...but like i said, minus the 409 and other harsh chemicals, the shops i've seen do this only use 3m products!
Can the guys over at Detailed Image send this dude one of everything from their washing/cleaning section of their store and prove to him that there's something better than 409/Fantastik????.....my GOD...that made me cringe.
actually, u'd still be surprised, right, i'm not claiming every detailer does it, but i do know some shops do wash their cars like that....minus the 409/harsh chemicals and the dirty rags, etc...

yea, you really have to pick up some quality products if u want the best results....finding old rags under the kitchen sink or buying crap chemicals isn't gonna cut it...there's a reason why some detail products are soo damn expensive...because those companies spend sooo much on R&D to figure out what is the best product for automotive paint...
