Is it safe to do the whole detailing process on self healing paint?

My detailing process:

1. Wash (Meguairs Gold Class Car Shampoo)

2. Dry with a shammy and microfiber

3. Clay bar (Mothers clay bar kit)

4. Polish (Probably not neccessary with self healing paint)

5. Wash again to remove any lube and left over polish

6. Dry again

7. Wax (Meguairs NXT Tech Wax)

 

You should do a sealant vice polish. Wax wont last very long at all.

 

also, if i remember right you probably dont want to clay bar the 09 paint anytime soon.

 

I remember that one of the dealers on here mentioned that you could do all the same as an 08 but you can't use a orbital buffer.

Since you cant polish this car with an orbital buffer, if this were my car, I would immediately wash, clay bar, and apply a sealant such as zaino's or Full Molecular jacket to protect your car longer. Waxes only provide temporary protection and shine depending on the product and driving conditions could be 1-4weeks where as a sealant provides protection for 3-6 months.

 

While I see where you are coming from I don't totally agree. We've had customers report 3+ plus months of protection from our waxes. They're a different breed, you actually feel like you're applying a thick layer onto your car. Some would rather have a deep wet shine that enhances the paint, while not worrying about waxing twice as often.

Plus you have to consider that a wax will mask swirls, where a chemical based sealant will not.
