I am having regrets

I just found a few new scratches (very thin but down the the sheet metal or at least the primer) on the hood of the car. I am so ****ing pissed off I just want to roll the car off the cliff and collect the insurance money to buy a car with a decent paint job.

The car picks up scratches and swirls way to fast! I used to have an Audi and I did not do nearly as good of a wash on that car as I do on this car and I did not pick up scratches. Infiniti sold us sub-pair paint and/or clear coat.

My question is though how much will it cost to remove the hood and have it repainted? With the new scratches on the hood I don't even give a **** about the car anymore because it will never look as good as it just a week ago.

The 09s have "Self-healing" paint.. a little late, but should make a difference on new models.

pictures? what part of the hood? could it just be really bad swirls? yeah the paint sucks on these... i'm super careful and still get swirls... lol and i have OB too... awesome

but i don't think the paint should be a real determining factor on whether or not you purchase the car...

Almost dead center along the hood mid-line. I have never EVER hit anything with this car or ever rubbed up against anything, even soft tings. I have OB as well. I have even swirls on the car to know that what is new is not a swirl mark.

Have you ever had the car detailed? If not get it done and then take reasonable care of it when washing. Those swirls and scratch can be removed. I'm going on my 5 month from a detail with selant with very few scratches.

Do you guys think you could take the car to a paintshop and have them put another clear stronger coat on it or no ? Because if you cant then i dont know i will have to think twice about the G.

Man, I don't know what car's you've all been driving but for me.. Rock has always won over paint . Windows loose to Rock as well, little bastages. I was refering to swirls and light scratch caused by improper washing technique and polishing can take care of that.

Funny, I've had my 07 G Sedan for almost two years now and the paint looks just as good now (minus a couple of rock chips) as it did when I drove it off of the lot.......and I drive it all year around in some pretty harsh conditions. IF you know how to PROPERLY take care of your paint (washing/drying/detailing, etc) than there is no reason for it to not look like new. Most people think they are caring for their paint properly when in fact they really aren't.

From my experience owning my own detailing company, Infiniti paint is no worse than other manufacturers like BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, etc. Porsche has the softest paint I've worked on by far.

Sorry, but wax DOES NOT remove swirls and scratches from your paint.

I love how the guys with black cars are complaining about swirl marks and scratches. I'm honestly not trying to sound offensive, and personally I do think it sucks to have to deal with these kind of issues...but that is exactly why I stay away from black...EVERYTHING shows up X10 in black...dirt...swirls...scratches...birdsh*t.

Looks freakin' tight as hell at night when it's got a nice polish and shine to it though...i'll give ya that...

Sorry.
