****ing Parking Lots.

I leave m car at the mall parking lot and come back less than 2 hours later and there is a 1.5-2inch scratch about 4 inches above where we have that scratch guard (towards the back tire). I damn near had a heart attacked when I saw it.

I have no idea who did it but I believe it was hit and run or some scraped it with a shopping cart. It is pretty deep, some parts it is down to the metal, most still has primer.

I bought a touch-up ink from the dealership and I was wondering if anyone can help me figure what the best way to apply this. I used the pen feature to cover up a tiny portion of the scratch but the paint does not look even.

I was wondering if any of you could give me advice.

DONT USE THEPEN!!! bad stories with that, go to a local detailer and ask them what to do, the dreadful pen is horrible!

 

I did go to a local detailed and he told me you can either use the pen, or have them do a 'spot paint' or some **** like that ($150).

Apply as sloppy as you can and then use this to smooth it out... works GREAT!!! Especially well on non-metallic (i.e., red/black) paints, but is pretty darn good on the metallics too. The problem is that metallics cannot be matched exactly because you'll never get an even application of metallic "debris" in the paint and it tends to shift the color. I use this on my car with the touchup pens and it works GREAT.

Ive been using touch up paint from the dealership and I have been adding thin layers one by one slowly and it is looking pretty good.

I wish I took I before picture to show a before/after.
