Paint and Windshield - After 800 Mile Road Trip

Greetings,

I recently completed an 800 mile road trip to Northern California (and back) - all freeways.

The G37S performed flawlessly (I did not have any doubts). I was actually impressed with the fuel mileage (fuel averaged $4.99 a gallon). A light foot and steady speed will exceed expectations everytime (I'll just leave it at that...).

After carefully washing and inspecting the black G37S, I noticed a few (less than six) chips/nicks in the lower front bumper (after removing a few hundred bugs). I would have included a photo, however, the chips/nicks are very small; approximately 0.5 mm or smaller in diameter. They are almost unnoticeable. A little touch up paint and they should disappear.

Here's the great news - the top of the bumper, hood, and windshield remained unscathed. The windshield did however catch a few bugs.

Two points to ponder.

One, an invisible bra for the lower bumper is a must if you plan to keep your G37.

Two, it pays not to tailgate. As you know, most of the road rash, chips and nicks come from following too closely. I know, I know, G37's have great brakes. Give yourself a little space; you'll save the brakes and front bumper.

Personally speaking, I am quite impressed with the quality of Infiniti's paint and finish.
