Garnet,

Great work as always. My wife who's not really into cars was even amazed when I showed her the photos. I though my BO G was horrible, but I don't think it's as bad as this Bimmer, maybe about the same. I was planning to use SIP and then P0106FF but seeing the results you got, do you think I could use just skip the SIP if it's in slightly better condition than this one? I'd love to save myself a few hours (I'm a slow but thorough detailer).

Also, I have just a few spots where the paint is in worse shape. I took it to a "professional" and they much to my horror made worse a few light scratches I asked them to get out ; it actually looks like they tried to get them out with sand paper! Could I just use the SIP on those 3 spots and not the rest?

wet sanding can be a necessary step in detailing! If the results look good, i would have no problem with wet sanding. pictures would help but not to thread jack, i'd start a new thread about this

This was not wet sanding, it was just scratching the hell out of my car by hand with a dirty rag and some cheap rubbing compound I later found out.

You can really notice it in this picture.

It's hard to say without seeing pics of your paint, but I would make a pass with the P0106FF and see how it turns out. If it doesn't remove all of your swirls and scratches, switch to your SIP. Also, I'd recommend getting yourself a halogen light. It's like a microscope for your paint and will give you the true story of what your paint is like.
