Detailing pros need help on stocking up on products!
That's exactly what I've did last year. I opened up Prestige Auto Detailing last summer and it's really taken off. All of my business has been by word of mouth. When you do a quality job it doesn't take long for word to get around.
My only problem now is that what was intended to be small has turned into much bigger than I expected.

These prices are still quite low compared to what other professional detailers charge. I wasn't sure what pricing I could get away with in my small market, which is why I priced services lower than most.
Garnet,
Sorry this is slightly OT, but what polish and wax would you reccommend for a red G? or any red car for that matter?
I am trying to find the perfect combo to bring out a deep shine.
I already have a PC and currently using Optimum Polish, PS21S Wax, and Danase Glaze.
Please PM me if you like. Thanks.

As far as protection is concerned, I always follow up my sealant with a carnuba for added depth and gloss. The best combination I've found so far on my Garnet Ember G is Menzerna FMJ sealant followed by Natty's Blue Paste Wax. IMO, FMJ gives the closest looking depth and shine to a carnuba of any sealant I've used in the past. It's EXTREMELY easy to use as well. I let me sealant cure for at least 24 hours before I apply my Natty's blue and I have applied 3 coats of that. Let me tell ya, my GE Sedan was really poppin'!

Btw, George has FMJ on sale for today only.

I obviously haven't tried every product on the market, but I have tried a fair amount. The best polish I've used by a landslide is Menzerna's 0106FF. It has light to medium cutting ability and you don't need to follow up with another polish to remove any hazing.

Now my car came with some pretty nice swirl marks from the factory, Im purchasing a Portor Cable 7424, what products would you recommend to use to get the car back into shape with the Porter.
Im starting with the two bucket wash method with the foam master gun using citrus soap that it comes with at a high concentration to strip the wax.
I will them clay bar the car and rewash with poor boys slick suds or whatever its called
Then the Porter but what products? I would like to use the two you already suggested above. Ohh and what pads

1) Menzerna: PO106ff Ceramic Clear Coat Polish
2) Menzerna: Finishing Touch Glaze (FTG)
3) Menzerna: Full Molecular Jacket (FMJ)
Optional:
4) Top it off with a few coats of Poorboy's Natty's Blue for additional depth and shine.
For Pads, I have used the LC Pads (Lake Country) with excellent success...

Yep, any paste waxes should be applied by hand with a foam applicator pad.
Lots of good info on here, glad to see some people are interested in starting up their own detailing biz on the side. I've seen this from a lot of people and for some, they even make a career change it takes off so well for them. If anyone needs a hand getting started, pricing, products, marketing, etc. I'm here to help you get the most out of your new business venture.
Nam, once you have some details under your belt and you're able to perform some good paint correction (swirl removal), you can easily pull in your targeted goal of $800 ~ $1,000 / month just from weekends. I always recommend going as high end as possible. Those are your customers with disposable income who want their cars looking their best. It's much easier to have a smaller base of quality repeat customers than to always seek out new ones as well. Maintenance details are quick money as well.
Regards,
George
