$125 for a dime size ding repair?

This is what my dealer quoted me. Is this a good price? And the ding repair isn't actually done by the dealership, they have a guy come by and repair it on the spot.

Here's a pic, its pretty hard to see cuz its black and small but you can use the reflection to pinpoint where the ding is.

Depends on what is done...

and you can be sure the dealer is marking up the cost (they are in business, after all)...you can likely find a ding repair service on your own and save maybe $35-60; I just paid $125 for repair on a fender that involved a small ding like yours - it included multiple coats and blending with the fender area. If I had squeezed the guy, I might have saved $25 but I'll save the pressure for bigger bills...Good luck

Really depends on the ding and the location of the ding... As mentioned above the dealer is going to mark it up to make a profile. Your best bet is to look outside of the dealership unless you just like having the comfort the dealership is gonna make sure it is done right.

Man, it's almost inevitable when you do city parking. But I also don't like to park out in the "Z" lot, either.

I used dentpro. It was initially $250, but I had them do my Element as well, so they gave me a discount.

I also live in the Bay Area. I used South Velley Dents @ 408-515-2289 and was very happy. Their minimum charge is $80 (which is what I paid) and it was well worth the money. I couldn't tell where the ding was when he was done working his magic. I only had the car for 3 days when it was dinged!

I heard that in some cases they have to repaint, but that sometimes it requires "blending" large areas of the panels. Anyone have any insight on this?

I know this is old but find out who the dealer uses and just go to them directly when work needs to be outsourced and cut out the middle man. For example, dealer wanted $125 to touch up one wheel. The guy came to my house and did all 4 for $175. And had a Volvo that needed exhaust work done. Side shop wanted $350. They where going to take it up the street cause they don't weld there. Went directly to the shop and they only charged $200.

Pdr is not just pushing dent out even small ones take time and if they are near body line or hard to get areas cost goes up
