Yep had mine washed/detailed before I took custody of it and there were swirl marks ALL over the driver side and passenger side. I'm still pissed! In all my years of owning cars I've never put swirl marks on my cars...not any that cover the full sides!

Next time I'm telling them not to wash my car.

Thumbs up Try for Justice

Sorry about your bad luck. Dealers and washing cars don't seem to go together very well from reports on this forum. You have lots of ammo to get some justice; they wrote down your wishes but neglected to follow them. Money back, clear description of how they plan to fix the damage (I'd observe if it were me). Plus, what will they do for your stress and inconvenience...?Calm but insistent often works; if not, then add a little (or more) volume to your voice and stay on message, i.e. what would you (Mr. Manager/Mr. Owner) expect if this happened to you...? If they try to B.S. you after all of that - I'd really let them have it. But make sure you know what you want and be as reasonable as a screwed-over customer can be. I bet your luck's about to change!

It never ceases to amaze me how authorized dealers often mess up car washes.

I would get them to pay you $280 to have it detailed again at the same place you had it done 2 weeks ago. Good luck.

Don't let them do it. Get them to pay for the detail again.

I'd raise hell if I were you. I took my car back to the dealership a week after I picked it up because of all the swirl marks and the guy talked his way out it of, said it was normal. Later on I called in and had them pay me $350 for a professional detailer.

So I read this thread just before I left to pick up my car and guess what? They washed it by hand and F*@ED it UP. I am so pissed. The detailer told me every car in America has these marks. BS. My 4 yr old 70K mile Volvo has NO wash marks on it at all and now my 1 week old G is covered with them.

I dismissed the detailer and complained to my sales person and the service mgr. Both apologized and asked me what I wanted them to do. They didn't have any ideas. What I want is it to be fixed, but can it? Once these damn marks are there, is it possible to get rid of them? I'm afraid of putting a buffer on the whole car, for fear of what that might do....anyone been successful with getting these marks removed? I need ideas please. I told them I'd get back to them after I did some looking around

I took my G37S to the dealer over Spring Break to get the GPS unit installed along with an oil change while it was there. I requested for NO car wash.

Go to pick up my car....and they washed it. I examined it very closely and couldn't find any swirls....just some tiny bits of the towel, but that was no biggie.

If they were to jack up my paint with swirls, I would make them fix it or a new paint job!

Someone here had the best idea....

Tell the dealer not to wash it.. AND put a big F*CKING sign on the rearview mirror, the rear side windows and the rear window stating:

DO NOT WASH - Washing this vehicle WILL result in this dealership being responsible for any and all damage, scratches and repainting that will be required to fix.

A bit to much.. probably.. but at least they'll get the point.

Infiniti seriously needs to take some time to train their dealerships on the proper way to detail cars...particularly the part where you NEVER REUSE TOWELS...

I had a pretty noticeable scratch on my roof after I got my car back from an oil change. At least they were good enough to fix it after I brought it back (well, they tried at least....you can still see it a bit). I don't plan on letting them do that again.

my dealership told me their carwash guy is very professional (whatever)...so HE WILL TRY get rid of the swirl..
So far i m being very gentle to them...but i warn them....if they don't get rid of it after their proffesional detail .. and make me suffer again.. i ll f*** them all and make them repaint my car...
and they said yes...if i were them i would rather pay me 350
