Having the car washed cause I'm lazy
So I noticed a bunch of threads cursing automated washers and so on. Lots of people seem like they was their G's themselves. I'm lazy and wanted to know what is the best option to get my car washed so that I don't ruin the finish. I have some of the turtle wax car washers in my area and those don't seem that bad. i see BMW's and lexus's go in there now and then.

I'm not talking hand wash detail type of a thing, I'm talking something automated and quick.

I am lazy by nature so I respect your position. I have had several vehicles and never washed them by hand, polished, sealed, waxed, etc, ever.
I bought a black G37 for something fun to drive when I am by myself and not going anywhere w/o good roads. I have found that I can hand wash it in the time it would take to get to the car wash 3 miles away. In the interests of laziness, it is actually easier to do it myself. Last time I drove by the car wash, however, there was a black 911 getting dried. I should have stopped in to see if the results were satisfactory.
Admittedly, if I lived somewhere cold, I might not be as enthusiastic about doing it myself.
If you have something other than black, I can't imagine that a good car wash will do any damages that can't eventually be fixed at a good detail shop.

Its not as if he lacks pride, just doesn't want to wash it.. I always hand wash my cars but after long highway trips I'll pull into a brushless wash to get the bugs/crap off my car.. No drying w/ towels. They work fine. Most places recycle the soap a few times but typically (I won't say ALL of them) use fresh water to rinse the soap off and filtered water for spot free dry. I'd say you're safe, it's just a car guys!!
Ya, I run my car through a brushless wash every once in a while. Not a big deal. Just make sure you get it detailed once or twice a year at least and you shouldn't have any big issues.

I just love to try to do everything I can when it comes to my cars. So much personal satisfaction. But as you stated above, I'd probably do the same.
Yea, I know. I was just trying to put some pressure on him. I'm just a real enthusiast. Everytime I wash my car, it just makes me feel so proud. You can step back and say "you sexy beast".

I had an all black monte carlo and that thing was a pain to clean. You have to be quick when it's sunny out or it drys funny. Needless to say, I feel very defeated after struggling to keep that thing clean that I thought it was easier to have the turtlewax car wash do it. My g37s is the Platinum Graphite and it stays very clean longer then most of the other colors.
Graphite is an awesome color when it comes to looking clean consistantly, hard to pick out the imperfections on that color. Same thing for Blue Slate, stays looking clean much longer than light blue (Athens) IMO.
Ever heard of D.I. Water? Talk about time saving... No need to dry, just rinse, wash (with Meguier's Gold Class of course
), and rinse off! No spots or anything... Takes me about ten minutes to wash my "SEXY BEAST" and have her lookin like a million...
