Sounds about right for a quality shop with a lot of referrals. Ask them to throw in the door handle cups too!

I got a quote on it today too. It was for the 3M clearbra and they said it would be 650 for the front bumper, mirrors, and 18" up on the hood and fenders.

I'm just concerned about how noticable the line on the hood will be. Has anyone had part of their hood done that could let me notice how noticable it is? By the way my color is Platinum Graphite.

I make regular 500 mile trips for work, which wreaks havoc on the front end of my cars. After seeing the difference between my 05 G without a clear bra and my 08 with one, I'll never own another car without it. The cost is well worth it in my opinion.

I paid $800 for mine. Full hood, front bumper and mirrors. From a reputable shop and 3M vinyl. I've had my car for 3 months and already have six chips with only 2400 miles. Unfortunately that was before I had the bra put on.

I waffled back and forth on this, balancing the mostly positive feedback on this product vs. the "covering the couch with plastic" metaphor -- sure, the couch is in good shape, but all you see is the plastic. I just couldn't get past the line on the hood. So I opted to just get everything in the G37 kit except for the hood -- front bumper, mirrors, under the door handle, and behind the wheels. Felt that was a good compromise between protection vs. aesthetics. Got that for $530 from the dealer. I was very impressed with the quality of the installation -- the edges come right up to the seams in the car.

That's really all the needs to be done. Saved you a bunch of money too!

is it a good idea to buy your own clear bra and install it yourself?

Not unless you have a load of time and patience and the ability to maybe forgo some impurities in the final looks.

I watched them install it once on my parent's car, have to be very patient and if its your first time, chances are you will mess it up (especilly by leaving air bubbles which look horrible)

air bubbles would look a lot better than rock chips, rightt?

^^^^^ while i would say yes air bubbles > rock chips, you can by pass either by having someone professionally install it for you. Especially if you have a black or other dark colored car, the air bubbles are really noticeable (we have one small one and it pisses me off like crazy) especially after you wash the car.

Just an Update on my Clear bra:
A wooden door stop was kicked up by a trunk and hit my bumper with me do 60 mph. I knew when I got home that I would puke due to my front bumper being jacked and there would be 6-8 bills worth of work to fix....

To my amazement... there was just a filmy scuff on there... I wiped it off and underneath was nothing...

The clear bra saved my bumper and is still flawless... it has already saved my alot of money in only a lil over a month of use!!!
