first, i wanted to get one. then i thought i don't drive the car too often, so it wouldn't be worth it. then i saw a forest green acura mdx with a clear bra that looked horrible since the lines were so noticeable. now i read stories about how clear bras have saved their cars.

haha so right now i'm still 50/50 about it. maybe if i find a good deal on it, i'll jump in, but for now, i'm happy w/o it. not like it'll save me if i ever get into a car accident...

I paid around $1000 for mine in the DFW area. It covered the entire front, 18" up the hood and fenders, headlights, rearview mirrors, and behind the wheel wells. My car is platinum graphite and it's definitely noticable at the right angle. Doesn't bother me though. The protection is well worth it.

Also check around and make sure they do good work. Most of the best installers don't use pre cut film. They will custom cut the film for your car. If you just go with the cheapest one you will probably regret it.

Dealer did mine for 1300. After reading these posts seems a bit high, but very worth it. No regrets. I do a lot of highway driving and since a lot of owners are complaining about soft paint, it makes sense to get it.

What convinced me to get it is that I saw the clear bra applied on a black G37, it was not that noticeable. If you're still not sure, call dealers to see if they have a car with it applied. My dealer applied 4 layers around the headlights in addition to places most commonly scratched and dinged by rocks.

I'm beginning to think I should get it for at least my bumper. I was washing my car today and noticed some slight imperfections where dust/gravel must've bounced off my bumper.

My biggest concern is that the clear bra will become very noticeable with age. I saw a dark green MDX with a clear bra and it looked horrible (of course, it could've been a crappy product or application of the bra itself).

To my amazement... there was just a filmy scuff on there... I wiped it off and underneath was nothing...

The clear bra saved my bumper and is still flawless... it has already saved my alot of money in only a lil over a month of use!!!
unfortunately, I'm not so lucky. I ran into a deer several wks ago when it was raining pretty hard here in the Bay Area. I needed a new front bumper and hood. When I was there talking to the claims adjuster, he didn't even know about the clear bra until I was telling him I have it on the car. To my surprise, there was literally no paint damage on the hood, just a big fat dent and a cracked bumper. My insurance is covering the clear bra too, so I'm happy. make sure you get the whole hood done if you're a picky sob like me. I'm bringing it back to these guys to do it - www.premiermobilegroup.com Hopefully, I get to catch my car with some of the crazy cars these guys work on.

My dealer put the 3M stuff on but it is very obvious that it is pre-cut trash. There is a 1/4 inch of hood bare between the film edge and hood edge. I find out tomorrow if they will re-do it.

My tint guy put clear bra on the headlights while doing the tint yesterday and he did a substantially better job. He doesn't use 3M because it is too stiff and shows the lines. I'm not sure what brand he uses, but he is reputable and gets a lot of repeat business so it must be adequate.

I can't even tell it is on the headlights.

He wanted $450 to do the hood, mirrors, bumper, and headlights. I just got the headlights done until I can find out what my dealer will doto fix the rest of it.

Good Source for Clear Bra/InvisaMask

Found this on the web. Called them up and ordered upper/lower bumper, mirrors and headlight kit. They charged me $225.00 for 3M or Invisamask (went with the later).
A friend who owns a window tinting shop will install for $100.00. I thought this was pretty good pricing.

I didn't want the hood kit and since I was having it installed I didn't need the "free installation tools". So I contacted them and asked for their best price for the upper/lower bumper, mirrors and a headlight kit. They quoted me $225.00 which I think they'd honor if you asked for the same parts.
