Yeah - that'd be nice to have Standard - I'm OCD about scratches!

I would want to have had it as an optional package/amenity

seems the NEW crossover vehicle Infiniti just released, the EX, (how much different is it from the FX anyway) has "Scratch Shield Paint." And to top it off - it's STANDARD on the vehicle. Why the F didn't they put that on our 2008 G's? It must make up for their normally soft and easily chipped/scratched paint! I am kind of upset and will be more upset if the 2009 G Coupe releases with standard "Scratch Shield paint"
Do you guys think there's even a remote possibility that they will over scratch shielding coats applied or put on our G's or is it too elaborate of a procedure - or perhaps an out of factory feature....???
Sorry to rant but I hate scratches and that's a feature I would kill for. I mean Im sure the EX can still be scratched - but anything that raises the car's tolerance for scratches is nice. Especially for the many of us Obsidian Black lovers!
Below is an excerpt about it:
2. Scratch Shield Paint
Where you can find it: Infiniti EX35
The crusade for city-friendly transportation began years ago with plastic
bumpers and dent-resistant doors. It reaches new heights with Infiniti's
Scratch Shield paint. On the EX35, Scratch Shield combines a highly
elastic resin with the clearcoat finish. The resulting surface is said to
maintain a glossy appearance over the years, and it can actually undo
minor damage in the course of a few days. While Scratch Shield won't
repair dents or gashes, Infiniti says it can restore things like
fingernail scratches under the door handles. Cars.com hasn't had a chance
to see it in action, but is intrigued by the prospects.
I suppose it's not magical and just kinda "buffs itself out" of the minor scratches say from fingernails, zippers, light key swipes, etc. I suppose with a good buffer, porter cable type thing we could "manual heal" our own $hit....But still - I would love to have this paint!
