Help me identify this mark on my car

Ok, so I was washing my car today and I noticed a few chips that I thought might have been caused by rocks. The thing is, the pattern seems odd to me. Normally you get 1 chip, not 4 in a row. And these are deep too. When I put my finger to the paint I can feel a raised edge on all the marks, which at first made me think it was a bad clear coat. Now that I've looked at the macro shots I took, I'm not so sure. Will these come out? Should the dealer cover this and fix it completely? If it was a rock that did this damage what course of action would I have?

I realize my car is dirty in these pics. I washed it before I came home with a nice manual spray car wash. The problem is it just snowed recently so the roads at some crud on them. I don't tailgate people either, btw.

I'd say definitely a rock. Looks like maybe it hit in a certain direction that caused it to "skip" almost like skipping a rock on the water. Unfortunately the dealer isn't going to help you. The fact that paint is very soft on any Nissan product is the very reason many of us go with a clear bra for protection.

If on the bumper, I've heard of people using a blow dryer to heat these places to help them lay down, but be careful with that. Not sure what else that could mess up.

Damn Interstate 70 to hell

Ok so how much would this cost to get fixed at a detailing shop or auto body shop? I have the clear bra on the hood and fenders, but not the front faschia. I think I need to get that done ASAP.

This makes me so sad. The car has 600 miles on it. I gotta fix her !!

Yeah, I got it saturday actually. I had to drive 200 miles back to KC. Anyone have some ideas on how to fix this problem before I get the bra put on the fascia?

Damn, I don't know how to fix that, but it looks almost like someone bit the car... Are you sure those girlies aren't running after you and chompin' on yo bumper?

www.langka.com

Best stuff ever... use this with factory touchup paint or purchase a touchup "pen" from www.automotivetouchup.com

Follow the instructions to a "t". this is a DIY system that is similar to what a dealership or bodyshop would charge $150 for spot repair... it will even be better than the dealer or autobody shop, but remember, metallic paints will never be 100% perfect unless you repaint the hood completely (which is a BAD idea on a newer car and will devalue it on a trade if they use a paint depth sensor).

That is interesting, although the mere thought of "touchup" paint on a car that has 600 miles makes me want to puke.

This is so upsetting. I'm gonna have an autobody place quote me and see if they think they can make it go away. If not, new bumper? I'd have to do it so it doesn't show up on carfax either.... Damn the road gods....

Use the Blob Eraser thingy. It is similar to what I use. You can get it very close to unseeable.

Yeah, I had over 4k work done for an accident to my 350z almost 3 years ago, I did a car fax on it this summer and it wasn't on there. Kinda scary actually.
