XM Canadian rates
I've been ignoring the almost daily phone calls from XM to renew and tossing their junk mail unread.
Yesterday I received a new offer which caught my attention: C$3.99/month for the first 3 months. They must be desperate...
I have no use for XM but if anyone is interested the promo code is DEAL4Q
Have at it.

I agree completely. Reception sucks the big one in Edmonton. Worked okay on the deuce down to Red Deer recently, but reception dropped out as soon as I hit town. Regular FM is not so bad and then there's always the iPod...
I only really have issues when I go further north than Edmonton, say Grande Prairie, no issues with reception in edmonton and I have xm in both cars. From what I understand, the reception is due to the positioning of the satellites where XM's are more around the equator while Sirus is more of a polar orbit. When I had Sirus in my truck, reception was good all around - I can't really remember losing signal at all.

I've had no problems with my XM in the last 3 years. The only time it doesn't work is around tall buildings, parking garages, etc but that is completely normal since it's line of sight just like your satellite dish is at home.
