Infiniti of Willowdale
I was going to drop off the car this morning at Willowdale Infiniti to get a "Service Engine Soon" light checked out, but when I arrived, I noticed a sign that said they charge an admin fee of $95 for all cars imported after January 2008. They didn't even mention this over the phone, and I had told them I purchased it in New York. Anyways, I protested the admin fee with one of the service managers, and eventually I even said that it's a cash grab....the guy actually replied "yes it is". What kind of BS is this.
I left right away and called Markham Infiniti. They said they don't have an admin fee, but they did say any warranty work may take a little longer as they have to call Infiniti USA to run the VIN and check the car's history.
Going to drop it off later this week, I guess I'll see what happens.
Aside from the Service Engine Soon light, I also want them to check whether the passenger airbag recall needs to be done.
Any of you guys go in for warranty work yet?

I go to Markham Infiniti, it's only about 15 minutes away. I haven't had any warranty service work done yet, but that "admin fee" is bogus. If I were you I'd call head office and complain about that dealership.
The dealership I bought from hasn't contacted me regarding the airbag recall yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm affected... the light goes on when I start the car, then goes off after a few seconds. I don't think they're ready to do the recall, the info that I got is they'll start some time mid-November, but it doesn't hurt to ask them to check your VIN.
Good luck and let me know how it goes... I'm due for another oil change soon and I wanna get them both done at the same time!

The airbag thing is a theoretical one. But I would, nonetheless, get it changed on their dime. A $95 admin fee is bogus. Luckily, I live across the border from the US and have already done transmission work there (TSB for it) so I'll probably do the airbag recall when I have to do my 7500 mile service.
