rrrevin; lets us know!!

If the car is in calgary then as expected it is admissible! (although that is not what we are debating, it is the future admissibility)

-- a few things I am interested in:

date of manufacture
form 2 requirements: ie: modifications to pass inspection

I expect mine to arrive at the dealer in the next few days and of course will keep everyone posted on my experiences too: pricing, dealer, trip there and back, border, RIV, etc

There may be a few modifications to make afterwards; but if it's on the list, you can bring it across. If the buyer in the story listing the Globe article had bothered to look at that list for his 2008 Honda Civic EXL, he would have seen that his vehicule was inadmissible.
I saw this on the news as well but people being interviewed claimed it was on the RIV list when they crossed the border but afterward, between forms, it was removed from the list. So they had their car in their garage but could not get the paperwork to put it on the road.

Just something to think about

FYI: Transport Canada has updated their admissible vehicles and policies -- everything looks to be cleared up

The G37 is FINALLY home!!!

Was dropped off this morning. Going to be putting on winter tires (from tirerack.com) tomorrow and going for my first 'real' drive. Will post everything this weekend.

It's been quite the wait, but seeing that OB G37S in the driveway was worth it!!

[Thanks for pointing out the typo :-)]

Question

I can't seem to find this info: does the G37 have daytime running lights?

No, the US versions dont come w/ DRL's. That is the one and only mod that needs to be done to make it compliant with CMVSS..

Unhappy Winter blues

Okay guys, I'm looking into winter tires now. What setup do you guys have? One thing I realize now is the smallest wheels it'll fit is 18"...

Did you guys buy the packages from tirerack.com? 18" Blizzak LM-25 with the F10 rims come out to a whopping $1,204 before tax and shipping.

I ended up ordering ASA JH3's (18x8) with the LM-25's from tirerack.. (hoping for them to arrive before snow hits the west coast!) They had a wider selection of cheap rims weeks ago, but many of them are sold out and no longer available..
I'm looking at ~$1400 shipped to the border.. possibly up to $1500-$1600cdn after taxes/duty. It does seem like alot, but buying them locally would've cost me $2100!! Factor in the savings on importing the car overall, its not too bad

Did you get sensors to go along with those?

Man, the package I mentioned above is out of stock and won't be available till January...

The 19" Blizzak LM-25 with Kazera KZ-S is available, with taxes and shipping it comes out to $1,827.79.

IMHO: Do not get the 19"s. You want a smaller tire for winter.
This was my pricing: https://www.myg37.com/forums/showthr...33#post2240633

rrrevin: is the shipping a door-to-door service? Or did you have to go to a warehouse to pick it up?

I would imagine you'd have to pay the tax and duties before they hand over the car, correct?
