How would one not have success with VPPCanada? Are you talking about last minutes fees or what?

Oh, I meant similar VPP plans; I tried Ford's X Plan out two years back and found that it was no better than good negotiating skills -- The dealers were not transparent about the the specifics of the vehicle invoice and X plan pricing

Is this an advertise deal? The $3K deal we're talking about around Christmas was also a cash purchase only.

I don't think many people can get vpp including me so dealing and the continuous strong dollar is the only option at getting a fair deal other than going south.

I have not seen it advertised. The dealer gave me this amount along with another $1286 bucks off.

I have only seen the $3k advertised for the G37 cash incentive. On another note, has anyone from another province such as Ontario purchased an infiniti from this Hyatt dealership in Calgary to save the extra provincial sales tax in Ontario for instance of 8%? Any good experiences out there? Since 8% tax is another $4k to ante up on the vehicle. Then you would have to either drive it home or put it on a delivery truck and pay the fee. Just wondering if anyone has done this. That way you are not crossing country borders...

Someone was looking for Infiniti Canada's sales results - here they are --> http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/a.../03/c6574.html - you'll see that the G35 is keeping them afloat - even then the performance last month wasn't even stellar.

Thanks a lot for the link Loki123 .

As for purchasing the car in Alberta and bringing it back here, it's an interesting idea, however I have a feeling that the Ontario sale tax will kick in when you register it here.

You can't legally avoid provincial taxes since they are applied at the DMV when you register the vehicle. Your best bet would be to have a friend buy the car register it in AB and sell it to you. Your PST would be based on the used book price of the car.

I have confirmed that Ontario dealers also have the $4,500 incentive (for cash buyers only).

I simply contacted a dealer in Ontario and they confirmed it.

I'm assuming that Infiniti (as well as Acura, BMW) don't like to advertise it too much because it dilutes the brand and they look desperate. Which is why you won't find it on their website all the time under special offers. And think about it - if they can sell a vehicle for $4,500 cheaper today - why can't they sell it for the same price tommorrow or the next day...

I was at an Infiniti dealer over the weekend and I can confirm that the guy offered up the $4500 immediately. I was looking at G35's at the time. I said that the $4500 comes from Infiniti and would be added to whatever he and I can work out. He mumbled something about dealer/Infiniti split or something but didn't sound very convincing. I was not buying immediately so I didn't push it, but it didn't seem like it would be very difficult to get the 4500 after you work out a deal (with your own discount). Not bad. Still not in the territory of US prices, but it's a step in the right direction.

PS: The discount on '07's was (I think) $6500 or $6900. Unfortunately, they didn't have any manual trans cars with Nav and hi-Tech package or I might have seriously considered that (only missing the ipod interface - disappointing, but maybe worth living with for the extra discount). That is almost enough to get me to shop in Canada.

There is no such thing as a 2007 G37. G37's started for the 2008 model year.
