Infiniti G37 - Future Owner Questions
Hello. Im thinking of buying an infiniti g37 and i was wondering if anyone here owns one. I want to know about the reliability and maintenance of this car, especially because I live in dubai and I want to know if its parts are hard to find/expensive. Also, the weather here is very hot so will that affect the car?. If you have any information or experience with this car please let me know what you think of it and if it is worth the money. Thanks.
Should I buy the convertible version?
Hello. Im thinking of buying an infiniti g37 and i was wondering if anyone here owns one. I want to know about the reliability and maintenance of this car, especially if it is a hard top convertible (the one im interested in). If you have any information or experience with this car please let me know what you think of it and if it is worth the money. Thanks.
two words... HELL YA!
there is nothing better than cruising with the top down, and with the hardtop it acts like a coupe when closed. perfect setup in my opinion. the car itself is very reliable, some early models had issues with the roof module and the oil gallery gaskets (virtually all nissans had this problem) but i think it was all figured out by about 2012-13 models. I would not hesitate to buy one, personally i love mine.

Best advice: get the car you really want! If you want a convertible, get a convertible. That is my only regret with my G. I wanted a 'vert and was shopping for one but then a deal came for a Coupe that I couldn't refuse. I don't regret getting my Coupe- not for one instant. Car has been rock solid and strong. But there are days when I really wish I had a 'vert.
The convertible will be no more expensive for maintenance than any other G37 or Nissan for that matter. I am firm believer that "if you take care of your car she will always bring you home."
Just my 10¢

I am with your point of view and thats exactly why am buying a vert, because I like it. But what I mean to say is, what if the roof gets stuck (whether up or down) and then I will have to pay a huge amount of money to repair it. So if this is frequent in the g37 then I should avoid buying the convertible version and stick to the coupe.

I got a great offer on the 2010 model, should I look for 2012-2013 and forget abt the offer? Because repairing is very important to me (I am a university student and I cant leave every now on then to repair the car)
Is the g37 worth it?

As an owner I can definitely say it’s worth it. Prices for them are rather high bc they are sought after right now. It seems as if ppl have gone nuts for the G platform recently. Parts aren’t to hard to find. You just need to search for them. In the US, especially in NJ (for some odd reason) there are a lot of wrecked G’s and they are being parted out with. It sucks to see wrecked G’s but I use that opportunity to buy up parts if need be. The aftermarket parts availability I feel like is shrinking a little bit. There’s still good selections to buy but prices haven’t changed or might have gone up a little even though the platform is older.
I’ve owned 2 G couples and I can say they are reliable (Knock on wood). My current G is an IPL, which was a FL car, and was a garage queen from the first owner. I got lucky and snatched it up. If you maintain your vehicle, it should be reliable. Use quality parts, service your vehicle regularly, and if you want it to last until you’re long gone, don’t drive it like a D!@k head.
As for hot weather climates, there are G owners that add aftermarket cooling to their cars. EI: oil, trans, power steering coolers to help in hotter climates. These cars do run pretty hot, and since your in Dubai, I’d def get at least an oil cooler.
Hope this helps and if you do end up getting a G, your going to love it. Just take your time to find the right one.

Merged your "should I buy" threads, renamed and moved it here. You don't need three of them.
Short answer: get the car you want and can afford. If that's not possible, then let it go and move on. G'luck.
