Question about a purchase for G37 sedan
Hi all,
I've been lurking on the website for a while just reading and learning while deciding what kind of G i would want to buy. I currently have a scatpack challenger lease which I'm bringing back in September and with the way things are for me I need a sedan. So after figuring out what's in my budget and what kind of car I'd want I've chosen the 2012-2013 G37S auto. Has to be auto as it will be my DD and gf has to use it occasionally when I take her car. Currently found a pretty clean looking one, 2013, 1 owner no accident as per the carfax, with 83k miles for about $12k. I was just wondering if its a good deal, considering I will be paying an extra car payment for 2 months / insurance or if I should wait until august to find a similar deal? Should I be doing anything besides doing the PPI as its in another state and I'd have to go roughly 500 miles to pick it up / test drive it?
Thanks in advance for the advice and I look forward to picking one up pretty soon and sharing what I do with it over the long term.

The RWD Sport Package has the performance parts you want... big brakes, close-ratio steering, limited slip differential. If original, the sport shocks don't mean as much after 88k miles, but the sport seating and flappy paddles don't get old. Good call, targeting a 2012-2013 G37S Sedan. $12k doesn't feel out of bounds, but I'm just supporting your plan, not your pocketbook. It won't have the same highway pull that your Challenger has, but will probably feel much more toss-able, more so after a set of aftermarket swaybars.
Good luck.
Good luck.
Appreciate the quick response and I'll take all the goodluck coming my way. Yeah after doing all the regular maintenance stuff I'm planning on throwing on coil-overs and sway bars, new wheels/tires, Catback Exhaust, CAI and a tune. Probably call it a day after that as from what I've read unless I'm going to turbo or supercharge there isn't much else to do for HP and Torque gain. Still on the fence if I should pull the trigger now or wait. I've seen a few of these pop up over the last 2 months so not too worried about finding another one but I do like this one lol.
Quick update: the car I was looking at was sold while I was on the phone with them apparently. So still on the hunt for my G. Will keep you guys posted once I do grab one / if I run into any more questions.
Still looking for one with decent miles. Honestly I check Carfax, and autotempest on a daily basis looking for a good deal local to me. Stick with it and hopefully we will find something good soon!
I’d say the original deal you were looking at was pretty good.
For reference, I just got my 2nd owner 2012 G37s 6MT w/ 85k on the clock for 13k in March. All maintenance up to date including the CSC already completed. The car is nearly flawless aside from 2 tiny rock chips on the front bumper and some extremely minor wear on the driver interior door trim.
Edit: I was searching for a manual 4 door and happened upon the G on shift.com. After a night of research I jumped on it and had them deliver the car to my door step. Sight unseen. They gave me 7 days to preform a “PPI” for a full refund if necessary.

83k miles, service records were ok, they wanted $11956 for it
It sold in 3-4 days, I didn't want to risk it with it being a 2010 (Galley gasket issue) and missing a few late 10k+ mile oil changes in the records

Same here. There was a 2010 black on black G37s 6MT Sedan on cars.com over the weekend
