G37 Sedan or Q40

So I am most likely going to buy this car tomorrow. I live in GA and basically all the G37 in my area are about 55k plus miles on it and is asking for 16-18k +. So I looked at Q40, being the renamed version, is going for 15-17k with less than 35k miles on it. And it’s from like “big brand” dealerships like Audi or Dodge, ram,Jeep,Chrysler. I guess my question is, is that is it the same mechanically. I wanna get Z1 Intake and Spacers and was wondering if it would still work. If anyone knows the biggest differences that would be great. It’s between a 13 G37 and a 15 Q40.

Oh and side note. The G37’s have accidents which some can go down to 13k and the Q40 has either minor damage or a clean title.

As Redgoyaben mentioned above, most if not all the aftermarket mods will work, they are mechanically the same car if they are both base models,

in 2013 there were sport models too though with bigger brakes an LSD, quicker ratio steering rack, sport seats, different bumpers and probably a few other things...none of that was available on the q40...the Q40 was just equivalent to a base model 2013...they may have also deleted some comfort and convenience features too... so just make sure the one you get has the options you want and you should be good...some things like the OEM bigger brakes and sport bumper can still be moded very easy as straight bolt ons

I was faced with the same decision and went with the lower mileage Q. As mentioned previously, it is essentially the same vehicle, it has just been driven less and has been under the sun and rain for a fewer amount of years.

2012 G37 or 2015 Q40 AWD

So I have 2 cars I am looking to purchase tomorrow. One is a 2012 G37 Journey with the Premium Package and Moonroof and has almost 68k miles on it with a clean carfax for 12,650 no haggle. Or a 2015 Q40 AWD with the navigation package and 53k miles on it. Has minor damage to the front when involved in a fender bender. Has been fixed since then and is going for 16,000. Which one should I go for?

I'd probably go with the g but if I you could get someone from a body shop to over look the damage n it passed then I'd take the q only because of the mileage

I was in the same situation as you before the beginning of this year. I wanted a G37 but the ones in my area had 75k+ mileage. Q40 was much better in terms of mileage and price so I ended up getting a Moonlight white Q40 with 28k for$14,000 all together. However I still have a bit of buyers remorse wishing I got a G37. My old G35 had the memory seats and I really miss that seeing as my wife takes my car every now and then. Tried looking into adding it but that's a different topic

Overall it's all the same minus memory seats and rear sonar. When looking for parts I search G37 instead of Q40. Hasnt failed me yet! Good luck!

Good luck w/ your search, a G from 2012-on or a Q should be virtually worry-free as far as reliability, so it comes down to features and price. And like mentioned above, if you can find a RWD G37 w/ S pkg, that's a nice find!
